Starting school

Children attend school the September after they turn four years old. Before they start in reception they'll be given the opportunity to attend school for a number of familiarisation visits. These will normally be for half a day in the first instance, building up to the full school day, including lunch. We also have close links with the local nursery, who generally visit once a term.

We believe that the early curriculum children are offered should be based on play, and to support this we have a purpose-built space adjoining the infant classroom. This area is used for structured play activities involving water, sand and construction toys. This was originally built to support the introduction of the foundation stage curriculum in 2001, but is now used by children across the whole age-range

If you'd like to view the school please contact the headteacher who will be very happy to show you round. You're also welcome to come for a more informal visit if you wish. Please ring beforehand to arrange this.
