We had the most magical morning, exploring our local river. We began by walking through a beautiful wildflower meadow, filled with butterflies, grasshoppers and lots of other insects. When we arrived at the river, we were met by Bob and Susie Cunnings, with two other volunteers, Tom and Gizelle, who explained about the variety of wildlife we might find. We took samples from the river and then used identification keys to spot a wide range of insects which indicated that at the moment, this part of the river is healthy.
We had a wonderful time, catching tadpoles and baby trout - always careful to put hem back safely in their habitat. We'd like to say a big thank you to all who came along and to help us.
