Events March Events at Our School

This month we had a visit from GB athlete Danny Butler to St Mary’s Bucknell school, and loved his mountain bike skills. Amazing! Thank you to all the children and families for raising sponsorship money. As a Federation collectively, we have walked / run well over 700km. Danny’s perseverance, determination and resilience messages, and talking about his youth, resonated with all of us.

We also celebrated World Book Day, and the children looked fantastic in their costumes. The Shropshire Star have published some of the photos. Looking ahead, the pre-school children will be joining us on the last week of term for an Easter Egg Hunt, which will be a great event for all the children.

Also this month, some of our Key Stage 2 children also performed at Ludlow Assembly Rooms based on the Shropshire folktale of Gwendol, The Wrekin Giant. More than 180 KS2 Shropshire primary school took to the stage. Our part was performing a protest dance using the White Stripes ‘Seven Nation Army’ as a track to dance to. Over four Wednesdays, the children worked very hard with Lucy Hilton (dance teacher) to practice and polish their dance.
