In Art and Design, we aim to equip children with the knowledge and skills to experiment, invent and create their own works of art in our diverse world. As pupils progress, they will develop their critical thinking and a deeper knowledge and understanding of art and design. Our curriculum will involve children in a range of visual, tactile and sensory experiences to enable them to communicate what they see, think and feel using colour, texture, form and pattern. In this way, children will become proficient in drawing, painting, sculpture, weaving, printing, collage and other skills and techniques. Alongside this, they will be introduced to a range of great artists, craft makers and designers as a starting point to inspire their own ideas.
