At Clunbury we're incredibly lucky to have our Forest School area attached to our school, and we've embraced the Forest School ethos since 2005. Our outdoor learning space has been hugely developed over recent years.
Sessions are aimed at teaching your child how to learn through holistic development. Children will take part in many activities which aim to promote self-confidence, independence, creativity, co-operation and resilience. These activities could include den building, lighting fires, cooking on a camp fire, climbing, identifying plants and animals, creating natural artworks and the safe use of tools. Most of all they're aimed at having fun because learning happens best when we're enjoying ourselves.
‘Mud washes out, memories stick!’
The child’s interest will be at the heart of any activity and they initiate learning for themselves. Children are encouraged to use their imagination and take appropriate risks within boundaries. Activities are based around our long-term plans, incorporate our six values and include all areas of the curriculum.
