Class 1 recently had our visit to Ludlow Castle to explore, have fun and learn about why castles are built where they are and what life was like in a castle. They had a good time with no rain falling, despite the drizzly forecast. They walked around the outside of the castle, went up some of the towers, saw a dragon, looked inside a well and went into the moat, an old icehouse and through a secret passage in the dungeon. A big thank you to Mr Theobalds who kindly came on the trip.
Here are some photos of the children enjoying learning outside the classroom.
Astonishingly, they met by pure chance, a famous explorer, Sir Chris Bonington, who was off to give a talk to Shrewsbury School. He answered some of the children’s questions about climbing Mount Everest in 1982!
