We believe that no limits should be set on children within the ‘design and technology’ curriculum. We encourage creativity in all subjects and aim to inspire children to create and design in class and beyond their learning environment. Our children are unique individuals with different interests and we aim to allow each child to see a need for, design, create and evaluate a variety of items and systems using different media, (e.g. wood, plastic, food, paper and textiles). The children are provided support, encouragement and space to allow them to develop ideas, make progress and learn what it feels like to fail and start again. Each child is introduced to, and taught to use, appropriate tools and methods to enable them to complete their projects to the best of their ability. Giving the children these skills will enable children to be prepared for our ever changing world.
